Died of liver cancer at the age of 73 yrs. He was a hardware merchant. Funeral billed to Taylor Brothers. He left NC for Tennessee, where he married Martha. They moved to Arkansas and then to Texas. They finally arrived at White Oaks in 1891 or 1894 (hard to read the old newspaper). They lived there until Carrizozo was founded and then they lived there.

His son was Robert Taylor. There were 7 children born to Napoleon and Martha, 4 died in infancy. 2 sons and one daughter as well as his wife survive him. They are Robert H. Taylor, Julian M. Taylor, and his daughter, Mrs. Joe White (Mildred Abigail Sweeney) of Hot Springs. The two sons were well known in the commercial and political life in the town and county.
