Max Koch, an avid carpenter and photographer moved to White Oaks New Mexico Novenmber 1893 about the booming gold rush in White Oaks he started making coffins for the undertaker John Slack and within a couple years John taught him the trade and sold him the business. In Nov of 1894 Max opened a Gallery on White Oaks Ave just West of Paden’s drug store.
