EVELYN FRENCH, 1930 UNIVERSITY GRADUATE, DIES IN CARRIZOZO

 

CARRIZOZO, N.M. – Jan. 10 (AP) — Miss Evelyn French, 24, teacher in the schools at Capitan, died in a hospital hear Sunday morning after a brief illness. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J.B. French of this city. Mr. French is the republican county chairman and Mrs. French is the county superintendent of schools. Miss French graduated from the University of New Mexico in 1930 after attending the school for three years. She had previously attended the University of Tennessee and the Loretto academy in Santa Fe. At Tennessee she joined the Alpha Omicron Pi sorority. She had a wide circle of friends in Albuquerque and Santa Fe and was a frequent visitor in both cities. Her brother, Miller French, also a graduate of the state university, is now a government engineer in Juneau, Alaska. She was a cousin of C.T. French of Albuquerque.
