Edward Uebrick

 

When Edward Gottfried Ferdinand UEBRICK was born on December 17, 1849, in West, Lower Saxony, Germany, his father, Carl, was 37 and his mother, Hermine, was 30. He married Anna Rosa Wilhelmine GROSS on July 14, 1887, in Germany. They had four children during their marriage. Immigration in 1877. On June 18 1880 census he was 30 a saloon keeper in San Antonio Colorado a town that was not incorporated until 1889. Living with a group of like ages single men who worked in the mines and restaurants there. Most likely he moved to White Oaks shortly after the gold strike was known and called for his future wife Anna to immigrate in 1881 they were married in 1887 and their first child Emma was born in New Mexico in 1888.

By 1891 Edward was a partner with John Brown in the grocery business in White Oaks.
 
 
 He had this cabinet card made by Max Koch in 1899 of his 4 finely dressed children 
 
 
 
These were not home made outfits but probably bought at either Ziegler or Taliaferro store. The 1900 census finds the family living in White Oaks in a rent house Edward being a gold miner . 1910 finds the family living in Dallas Texas at 262 9th street. All together except for eldest daughter whom was most likely married they lived in a mortgaged home with 2 live in black servants. Edward ran a factory daughter Anna h was a telephone operator. Wife Anna died in Dallas March 20 1933. A note shows daughter Elizabeth death as 1926 but no record found 
 
No further record found for other children,  most likely under unknown married name 
 

He died on May 8, 1914, in Dallas, Texas, at the age of 64.
