Dr. Alexander Lane opened a medical practice and drugstore in White Oaks, New Mexico, formally from Las Vegas New Mexico, he heard about the White Oaks camp, and in May of 1880 Alex left his wife to run the drug store in Las Vegas and headed to White Oaks., And after building another Drug Store, he had his wife and children come join him. Also Dr. Lane invested in a gold mine called, “The Reclusia” The Doctor also was the city treasurer in White Oaks. Doctor Lane also taught school in the front living room of his home. The Doctor spent the last years of his life in Oakland California to be close to his children.
His son Allen Lane remained in White Oaks and was part of the WildCat Leasing Company. A gold mining venture.
