Brown Building White Oaks Ave and Pine

The Brown Building was constructed in 2 parts in 1892. The first half located immediately East of Bond and Stewarts with dimensions of 25 X 65. Both sides have a basement.  The Video link below suggests that it was built in 1885, but i have to differ.  On the West side of the building,  Ozanne and Co specializing in clothing and apparel leased the space until they filed bankruptcy in July of 1894 (lasting less than 2 years) and then replaced by S.M. Weiner clothing and apparel. On the East Side the room is leased to Arnold Ridgeway Grocer. Upstairs the public school would teach classes until a school was built July of 1894. School was taught in the Brown Building for less than 2 years.
